About Me

Hello, and welcome to Finding Joy In Today. I’m Lori and I live in a small, rural, town in Northwest Pennsylvania with my husband, Scott, my youngest son (who will be graduating this year), and my German Shepherd, Dakota. I have a wonderful adult son who is married and lives in Ohio with his beautiful wife and my adorable grandson. I enjoy reading, writing, playing the piano, taking long walks in the woods, decorating my house, and playing with my grandson.

My husband and I have been in ministry for over 27 years. Eight of those years were as youth pastors, and nineteen have been as senior pastors. While we have had many great, wonderful, rewarding years ministering to the needs of others, we have also experienced a lot of pain during ministry by christians coming against our family. It caused a lot of anxiety and depression in my life. I was also dealing with a lot of fear caused by past traumas which was making me a very negative, fearful person. I put on the perfect face for people but inside I was just miserable.

In this blog, I want to share some of the things I experienced as well as help those who are suffering from fear and anxiety to know that you are not alone and God is right by your side. You can find joy in the midst of your storms. Psalm 30:5 says “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” You will overcome!

I hope you pull up a chair, grab a coffee and cookie, and enjoy reading my blog.
